A Race with No Finish Line: Support Ryan’s Backyard Ultra Fundraiser! 💰🏃‍♂️⏱️

I’m running for King County Council. But before election day, I’ll be taking on a different kind of race: a Backyard Ultra—a grueling endurance event where runners complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour until only one remains.

There’s no set finish line. Just one more lap. Then another. And another.

Kind of like public service, really—where progress doesn’t always come in giant leaps, but in steady, determined steps.

💸 Here's how you can support my campaign:

  • Pledge an amount per (4.167 mile) lap—$1, $5, $10, $25 whatever inspires you.

  • I’ll run as many laps as I can. After the race, I’ll send an update with my total.

  • Then you’ll come back here and donate based on your pledge to help fuel our grassroots campaign.

Or, if you'd rather skip the math, you're always welcome to make a flat donation right now at ryanmcirvin.com/donate.

🌀Why a Backyard Ultra?

Because this campaign—and the work ahead—isn’t a sprint. It’s about relentless incrementalism. It’s about showing up, hour after hour, doing the work, and making progress—together.

Whether I last 10 laps or 50, your support will carry me forward—on the trail and on the campaign trail.

Let’s go the distance for South King County.

⏱️🏁The race starts on Friday, April 25th at 7:00am

📺👀 You can follow all the action via a livestream as well as a live-updating spreadsheet that shows how many runners are left and the time each runner took to complete each loop.
