Protecting our environment is essential to the health and sustainability of our communities. A more sustainable future requires smart growth and resilient infrastructure. I have championed expanded transit service in South King County and advocated for more affordable housing near planned transit stations to reduce sprawl and support walkable communities. Additionally, I have supported funding for better active transportation connections, including sidewalks, bike lanes, and regional trail system expansion. While on council, I have been a strong advocate for the restoration of salmon habitat along our waterways, supporting parks and open spaces, and preserving natural lands for future generations. I have also worked on these critical environmental issues as a member of the WRIA 8 Salmon Recovery Council, the Cedar River Council, the King Conservation District Advisory Committee, the Eastrail Regional Advisory Council, the King County–Cities Climate Collaboration (K4C), and as a Board Member of the Issaquah Alps Trails Club. My experience working with regional environmental task forces has prepared me to push for bold policies that protect our natural resources, advance renewable energy, and ensure King County remains a leader in environmental stewardship.
