A strong regional economy means supporting small businesses, creating high-quality employment opportunities, and making smart investments in growth that make King County the destination of choice for employers. I have fought for policies that strengthen economic opportunities for workers, and my experience working on workforce development issues at the University of Washington Bothell has given me firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities facing job seekers and employers. In addition to my public service, my wife Stefanie and I own and operate a small business specializing in handcrafted candles, giving me a direct understanding of the challenges entrepreneurs face and the importance of fostering a supportive economic environment. I am especially committed to expanding opportunities for women- and minority-owned businesses, ensuring equitable access to resources, capital, and contracting opportunities. This experience has prepared me to advocate for countywide strategies that expand access to quality jobs, strengthen career pathways, and invest in workforce training programs that equip people with the skills needed for in-demand careers, ensuring a thriving economy that benefits all residents.
