A Sunny Start to the Campaign

Thank you for making our kickoff brunch a success!

This past weekend, we launched our campaign for King County Council - and I couldn’t be more grateful. The sun was shining, the food was incredible (thank you, RTC Culinary program!), and I was honored to be surrounded by so many friends, neighbors, and community leaders who believe in the work we’re doing together.

The energy in the room was inspiring. It reminded me why I’m running - for a stronger, more connected South King County, where every community has the tools to thrive.

Stories, Purpose, and Partnership

We kicked off the morning with warm introductions from my friend Woody Sobey and my wife, Stefanie, who shared our personal connection to Renton Technical College and the role it plays in lifting up our community. As a STEM Instructional Facilitator for the Renton School District, Woody also spoke about the importance of the Renton Promise partnership and building a strong workforce through technical education and apprenticeship opportunities.

Councilmember Ed Prince spoke about our shared work on the Renton City Council, and why this next step for me - serving on the King County Council - matters. His support and encouragement mean the world to me. Former Renton City Councilmember Angelina Benedetti closed out the program with a powerful call to action to help fuel this campaign and keep us moving forward. I am grateful for the many donations we received!

Community Powered, Heart Forward

This event came together with the help of so many generous hearts. A special thank you to:

  • Renton Technical College for hosting and feeding us with care and intention;

  • Susan and Guy Pittman for the gorgeous flower arrangements;

  • Woody, Ed and Angelina for speaking in support of me and the work I will continue to do;
  • Our friends, Mical and Sheigh, for arriving early to help us set up the room;

  • My wife, Stefanie, and my kiddos Molly and Lena for being my greatest cheerleaders;
  • And my mom, Bev, whose support makes this all possible - we are SO thankful for all that you do!

Let’s Keep It Going

We’ve got a big journey ahead and I’d love to have you on the team. If you’d like to:

*Put up a yard sign
*Knock on doors with me
*Help make calls or host a house party
*Or just stay in the loop

We’d love to hear from you! Every action, big or small, helps build the kind of campaign - and the kind of county - we all deserve.

This campaign isn’t a sprint - it’s a marathon. And I’m grateful we’re in it together.

Let’s keep the momentum going. Let’s build a thriving South King County for everyone. #RunWithRyan

In solidarity,

Ryan
