On May 14th, I had the opportunity to volunteer with Cascade Bicycle Club at their Bike Everywhere Day celebration station at Renton Memorial Stadium. As a longtime advocate for active transportation, it was a great way to give back to a cause I believe in and to support the thousands of cyclists who rely on safe, accessible biking infrastructure throughout our region.
Bike Everywhere Day is part of Bike Everywhere Month, a statewide campaign led by Cascade to encourage people across Washington to try biking for commuting, exercise, errands, or fun. Throughout May, Cascade and its partners host rides, activities, and Celebration Stations to uplift the joy of cycling and promote safer, more sustainable transportation systems.
The highlight of the month is Bike Everywhere Day, when dozens of Celebration Stations pop up along popular routes to cheer on cyclists with coffee, snacks, giveaways, and community energy. It’s a way of saying thank you and of building visibility and momentum for biking as a vital part of our region’s future.
My role that morning was as a volunteer photographer, helping capture the stories and spirit of the day. I also proudly support Cascade Bicycle Club’s mission as a donor, because I believe in their work to empower more people to ride confidently and safely, and to advocate for connected, climate-conscious infrastructure that benefits everyone.
Whether you're a daily commuter, a weekend rider, or just bike-curious, I encourage you to get involved with Cascade Bicycle Club. Join me donating or volunteering at a future event. Together, we can keep pushing for healthier, more connected communities, one pedal at a time! #WABikeEverywhere
All my best,
Ryan
